Testicular Cancer Check

Testicular Cancer Check

About Testicular Cancer

If you have a bump or a lump or a lesion that you want to check for cancer, the professionals at the ManCenters can provide that service.
Testicular cancer typically develops in one or both testicles in young men, but it can occur in older men as well. It is a highly treatable and usually curable type of cancer. More than 90% of cancers of the testicle develop in special cells known as germ cells. These are the cells that make sperm.
Testicular germ cell cancers can begin as a non-invasive form of the disease called carcinoma in situ (CIS) or intratubular germ cell neoplasia. In testicular CIS, the cells look abnormal under the microscope, but they have not yet spread outside the walls of the seminiferous tubules (where sperm cells are formed). Carcinoma in situ doesn’t always progress to invasive cancer.

Not necessarily. Conditions such as torsion of the testicle, injury, infection, hydrocele, varicocele, epididymal cyst/spermatocele, inguinal hernia and kidney stones can produce testicular pain. Because it’s hard to figure out the cause based on symptoms alone, it’s important to have any testicular or scrotal change checked by us.
